Getting to the NSW Central Coast
The NSW Central Coast is only about one hours drive North of Sydney via the F3 freeway and is accessible by car, train, bus or light aircraft. The easy drive makes it a popular holiday destination for Sydneysiders.
GETTING THERE...
BY CAR
From Sydney:
Take the F3 Freeway North out of the city and head towards Newcastle following the clearly posted signs to Gosford or you may choose to take the Pacific Highway to Gosford for a slower but more scenic route. Journey time is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
From Newcastle/Hunter Valley
Take the F3 Freeway South and follow the clearly posted signs to Gosford. Journey time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Take the Gosford exit for Gosford, Woy Woy, Ettalong, Avoca, Terrigal and Erina.
Take the Tuggerah exit for Wyong, Tuggerah and The Entrance.
Take the Toukley exit for Toukley, Norah Head and Budgewoi.
BY BUS
Several interstate coach companies stop on the Central Coast. Buses operate from all railway stations, shopping centres and most of the beaches and cover all areas of the Central Coast.
Busways covers Gosford, Woy Woy, Erina, Terrigal, LakeHaven and Wyong.
Red Bus covers The Entrance, Gosford and Wyong.
BY TRAIN
CityRail trains leave Sydney Central Station and Newcastle Station twice each hour, stopping at Hawkesbury River, Woy Woy, Gosford, Tuggerah, Wyong. It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Sydney or Newcastle.
BY FERRY
Central Coast Ferries operates each day from Woy Woy to Davistown, Saratoga and Empire Bay.
Palm Beach Ferry Service runs daily between Ettalong / Wagstaffe and Palm Beach.
