There is so much for the whole family to do on the Central Coast. There are walks in the national parks, golf courses, boutique tea houses or big-game shopping centres, swimming, sailing, surfing, fishing or kayaking at the beaches. There are cafés and restaurants all across the Central Coast offering a tremendous range of food and coffee is and, if you like a drop or two of quality wine, the Hunter Valley showcases wine and fine foods less than 50 minutes away.
 
Most people come to the Central Coast for the beautiful beaches and waterways with fantastic surf beaches as well as quiet coves to drop a line. There are beaches for families with young children, beaches for surf boarding and you can even take surfing lessons or go scuba diving and snorkeling. The Central Coast has the lot.

 

Pelican Feeding at The Entrance

 

Pelican Feeding is pretty much the most popular tourist attraction on the Central Coast.  It's on daily at 3.30pm every day no matter what bthe weather is like. Head to Memorial Park at The Entrance for an entertaining and educational commentary about the pelicans plus other birds and marine life in the area as well as general information on the Central Coast.

Eleven tours, talks and activities run every day at the Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park and are included in the admission price:

Norah Head Lighthouse Tours

 

Enjoy a half-hour tour of this historic lighthouse. Climb the 96 steps to the top of the tower and enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree view. Learn the amazing history of shipwrecks, lighthouse keepers, grounds and flag locker. Take a walk along the rock platform below.

 

Tours run regularly on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 3:00pm during normal times, and on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday during school holidays. A maximum of 10 people per tour is permitted.

Prices are $10.00 for adults, $6.00 for children and concessions/seniors and $6.00 for group bookings.  Family passes are available for a cost of $26.00 covering 2 adults and 2 children.

We encourage you to make a booking to avoid waiting times.

Australian Reptile Park

The Australian Reptile Park is known as "The zoo with a difference" and is home to an extensive collection of native reptiles and marsupials. Amongst them is Leonardo, the real life ‘ninja turtle’ found in a sewer in Sydney. Home also to many Australian cuddly mammals such as platypus, koalas, wombats, Tasmanian devils, echidnas, dingoes and friendly hand-reared kangaroos. This is the only place in Australia providing the opportunity for people to hold non-venomous snakes. You may also view venom extraction from snakes and spiders.

Wildlife Park and Nature Sanctuary

Australia Walkabout Park is a 170 acre wildlife sanctuary and home to around 180 species of indigenous mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds. Leaders in conservation, and environmental education.

Cedar Park Lavender
Call in advance to confirm opening hours and ask about farm tours.

 

Cedar Park is a working lavender farm in the scenically beautiful Yarramalong Valley, a 90 minute drive from the centre of Sydney and one hour from Newcastle. Visitors always welcome. No entrance fee.

Yarramalong Macadamia Nut Farm

Yarramalong Macadamia Nut Farm is the southernmost working Macadamia nut grove in Australia and easily accessed from both Sydney and Newcastle.

The farm is on 35 acres of picturesque property much of which has a rainforest like appearance. About 15 acres are devoted to the production of nuts with around 600 trees. All processing is done on site which is unusual within the industry.

Central Coast Steam Model Co-op

Operates: 1st Saturday of Every Month from 11:00am.

The miniature steam train is a fun filled day out for the whole family. Purchase tickets and jump aboard for the ride of your life. The train rides operate on the first Saturday of the month, 11am - 4pm. All riders must wear appropriate footwear.
