About Copacabana
Copacabana earned its name in 1954 when the area was subdivided. Previous to this it was known by an aboriginal name which meant “where the waves pound like a beating heart”, a very appropriate description.

During the whale watching season which runs from April to September, the area is ideal for watching their majestic beauty. South of the beach is the popular lagoon where you can enjoy fishing and kayaking.
The Bouddhi National Park is only a few minutes away offering beautiful bush walks for the whole family.
Copacabana Beach is a pretty village without high rise or motels or hotels and is therefore seen as the best place to contrast the hustle and bustle of the city. A good range of restaurants and cafes are only about 200m away and the beaches of Avoca and Terrigal are only around 10 minutes North offering a huge range of restaurants, shops and entertainment including cinemas and an ice rink.
